The National AIDS Commission holds Five Day Strategic Plan Retreat

The National AIDS Commission on Monday, January 13, 2025, begun a weeklong Strategic retreat aimed at synchronizing the Commission’s 2025   Plan of Action to ensuring an effective implementation framework.

The one-week dialogue also seeks to address coordinated efforts to foster teamwork among NAC Staff, and at the same time, provides professional development and training on topics relevant to the scope of the Commission.

In addition, the retreat will review past performances and develop strategies to address challenges in the HIV response. In continuation, the objective of the retreat will also recognize achievements and increase staff morale, among others.

Officially opening the Retreat, NAC’s Chairperson, Dr. Cecelia J. Nuta, appreciated both government and partners for their unwavering support to the Commission since her inception as head of the Commission. Dr. Nuta, further called for an inclusive approach at all levels and lauded the workforce for their continued support to her administration, urging them to remain steadfast in the discharge of their duties if the mandates of the commission must be achieved.

She encouraged participants to uphold ethical standards within the work place as a means of cultivating productivity.  “You all have the basic incentives so you have to do due diligence when it comes to your role and functions” she added

Dr Nuta, than called on employees to attach importance to the retreat, disclosing that there are several stages embedded in the retreat and needs the full participation of all.

In his presentation, the Executive Director, Solomon Hinneh, made a full displayed on the origin of HIV/AIDs in Liberia with statistical evidence of the Country’s status. He named Montserrado, Bassa and Margibi as high risk counties based on the current data and stressed the need to have the remaining counties enrolled as the other five (5) reporting counties for effective data collection and reporting purposes.

To emphasize the importance of the retreat, County Coordinators have been drawn from Nimba, Bong, Bomi. Bassa and Margibi to form part of the retreat in a bid to have some refresher on NAC’s Operations and functions as well as reporting.
